Following on from the Wing Athletic meeting three cadets from the Squadron have represented Wing at the South West Region Athletics meeting held on Sunday 5th June 2005.

The cadets did extremely well in the competition with Cdt B Absolum winning Gold in the 100m and 200m, Cdt G Armstrong winning Gold in the 5 x 400m relay and Silver in the 400m and Cpl J Nelson winning Bronze in the 800m. The cadets also receive Wing Blues for their efforts.

Congratulations to all three cadets but in particular to Cdt Absolum who now goes forward to represent South West Region at the Corps sports championship to be held at RAF Cosford.

Swimming

Dorset/Wilts Swimming Championships 2005

Cadet of fish? We are not sure, but once again Flt Sgt Viv Sherry has proved that she is someone to be reckoned with once she hits the water. Winning three of the five events for senior girls she has ensured her place in the Wing Swimming Team.

Congratulations Viv.

Cadet Inter-Service Swimming Competition 2004

Cpl Viv Sherry has won yet another Gold Medal at the Cadet Inter-Service Swimming Competition held at RAF Cranwell on 27th November 2004.  This event takes place each year against the ACF and the SCC and once again the ATC came out as overall winners.

Competing in three events during the meeting Viv was a member of the successful Individual Relay team that came 1st and won Gold.  Two silvers (backstroke and medley relay) were also added to her tally of medals gained over the past few months.  Viv also managed to improve on her Corps record in the Senior Girls backstroke.  Well done Viv.

Viv now has the full set of Wing, Region and Corps "Blues" for swimming.

Parkstone Cadet wins Gold

Cpl Viv Sherry won 2 Gold medals and 2 Silver medals when she represented Dorset/Wilts Wing at the Regional Swimming Championships held at the Royal Marine Base at Lympston in Devon on 2nd October 2004.  Viv then went on to represent South West Region at the National Swimming Competition where she managed to out-perform all other cadets from the Corps and beat the Corps Backstroke record for Senior Girls.

Swimming First

The Dorset / Wilts Wing Senior Boy's Swimming Trophy was this year won by a team of four cadets from 2391 Squadron. Members of the team were Cadet Flt Sgt Alex Baker (capt), Cadet Aryan Sharahi, Cadet Cpl Joe Nelson and Cadet Matt Martineau.

Cross Country

Three cadets from the Squadron have helped Dorset / Wilts Wing to third place in the Regional Cross Country Championships held at RAF Lyneham on Sunday 28th November 2004.  The three cadets, Sgt Matt Hicks, Cpl Becky Tolson and Cpl Viv Sherry should all be congratulated on their efforts. Matt, Becky and Viv were each awarded "Wing Blues".

Cpl Joe Nelson was chosen to represent Dorset / Wilts Wing in the Senior Rugby held at RAF Lyneham on Sunday 14th November 2004.  Joe has been awarded a "Wing Blue" for his efforts.
